The winter holidays in China are quite muted, but I still managed a good time. New Year's Eve was eventful, with Simon and me having to take a friend to the emergency room. We didn't let that dampen our evening though, as we, however inappropriately, had a few beers in the hospital while waiting. And after our friend was released around half past one, we made it back to a still-happening party. I had prepared a special New Years set of my lovely and unique brand of acoustic guitar and vocals over drum and bass, and although I was planning on playing right after midnight, played at two instead. Which is just as well, as I've found the more drunk an audience, the more receptive it tends to be. Then it was on to the club, where we kept them open until five.
