The tail end of the swell was still bringing through some chest-high waves at Riyuewan. It tapered off throughout the day and actually went side-on, which is odd for that spot this time of year. It’s been overhead for the last three days at Shimei spots. The swell should fade a bit by tomorrow, but with lighter winds, more directly east-facing spots should be pretty good. By next weekend we should see another strong swell kick in.
The local boys have said it’s been pretty fun over the last three or four days. A few new spots discovered. There are still a ton of spots to be found here. Waist- to chest-high clean waves up on the east coast today. We’ve got another swell coming, peaking on Friday. Not as big as the last one, but we should see head-high plus waves for Thursday through Saturday on the east coast. 今天东海岸的浪高度在腰至胸之间。又一个大浪即将到来，周五将会最好，虽不及上一次的浪大，但在周四至周六期间东海岸仍会有一些一人多高的浪。
Wow what a great day at Riyuewan. When we got there, it was disappointing because it was a little smaller than yesterday. It is so good to be in this season again! Summer has it’s fun swells, but the fall/winter season is when we are reminded that Hainan really gets some great surf. It was about a foot overhead at Houhai Bay today. Closing out on a lot of waves as Houhai Bay tends to when it has some size, but lots of fun drops, a quick turn, and then a jump off the back. We should have a bit more size tomorrow, so we’re headed up to Read the full article…
