May was a fun month, we had some good waist to chest high waves in Dadonghai, check it out:

We also had our first SUP and Run Biathlon, we had a lot of sponsors supporting us， like Hainan Beer that gave us 20 boxes of beer！ We had some good party that day.

We also have been very busy teaching surfing in Houhai to some groups of students from Shanghai American School. They arrived all the way from the big city to Hainan Island on a trip to get closest to nature.

Of course we had some very flat days too, but well…we know how to entertain ourselves in these cases.

We also had a random late east swell on the last few days so I went to houhai and surf some with our friends from Nanuna Hotel. They host me and had some fun sessions together.

In Houhai now there are at least seven Chinese surfers. I got pretty surprised when at certain stage I was the only foreigner in the water.

Finally I got force to learn shorboard. I couldn’t bring my favourite 9’2 longboard on the bus to Houhai so I took a 6’2 Fish and try it out. I couldn’t believe how much fun I had with it. I remember I tried this same board last summer and I couldn’t even stand up on it, all these months of longboarding were definitely useful. So now I might use this fish for a while until I’ll be ready for something smaller. Here there are some pictures of it that Sanwa kindly gave me.

The swell is building up right now, we might have waves for the whole week here in Dadonghai.
